My name is Chris Michele and this is my 5th year teaching in my home town of Belleville, NJ. I am a Health and PE teacher for grades K-6, well now K-5 because recently, 6th grade was moved to the Middle School. Being a teacher to me is very exciting with new adventures and challenges each day. I love being the person who is given the opportunity to be the first one to point the students in the right direction. It could be teaching them fundamentals of any sport to the importance of self-control. I know we are the first voice (besides their guardians) they hear educationally and it is a privilege that I take seriously. I am happy to say that I am a proud teacher and a proud father and I thank my students for teaching me what to expect in the future. I feel lucky to be a teacher especially at the elementary level because I now can experience and know what to expect as my daughter reaches those ages.
Working as teacher you are leader to your students. Working in administration is just as important only more people rely on you to show the leadership they need to have. I look forward to learning additionally on how to be a leader and be in control with handling pressure as a leader. If there is something unique about me I would say how I am someone who likes to smile and be calm about situations that arise in my presence. People seem to panic and lose their cool while I try to keep the surroundings calm and peaceful.
